Josh Cliburn

Saxophone

California native Joshua Cliburn moved to Portland in 1998 and since has toured and recorded with Porterhouse Quintet, Rubberneck, The Motet, and Intervision. In last decade, Joshua has broken bread and ear drums with some the of NW’s greatest musicians including, the Living Daylights, the Everyone Orchestra, Soul Vaccination, Triclops and blues legend Curtis Salgado, jazz greats Dan Balmer, Dan Faehnle and Darrell Grant, been a guest soloist with monster groups Calobo, Ozomatli, and Leftover Salmon and has shared the stage with Maceo Parker, John Scofield, and Tower of Power to name a few. The saxophonist and competitive karaoke star spent four years playing in the U.S. Army Band, has won numerous college jazz soloist awards and is a graduate of the Jazz Studies program at Portland State. Joshua has performed in nearly every venue in Portland from the Crystal Ballroom to the Zoo Ampitheater and toured extensively throughout the West. His most recent project is the Joey Porter Funktributes band, performing dedicated shows to the 70′s funk of Herbie Hancock, the mind-and-genre-bending Sly & the Family Stone and the great Stevie Wonder…AND Michael Jackson, coming this June! These are NOT cover shows. These are tributes in the spirit of live music. Come share the in the love of some great music.
