We know you Intervisionaries  love the outdoors as much as we do. Some may already be preparing for a great season of music festivals, camping, hiking, biking, kayaking, windsurfing… you name it.

So in the spirit of the sunny season, Intervision invites you to Jimmy Mak’s on Saturday, May 19, at 8p for our “Spring into Summer” show. Our good friends from Upper Left Trio will open the evening with a set of future jazz to get you in the mood for your outdoor endeavours.

Intervision has recently received international recognition for their talents, innovation, and defense of the Twenty-First Amendment. They have been honored in various ways for their accomplishments and influences, including the naming of Intervision Street in Berlin, Germany, the naming of a small asteroid, 3834 InterRoid, and the erection of a bust of Jon Barber in Vilnius, Lithuania. Most recently, Baltimore’s Southeast Anchor Library has been designated as the installation site for a replica of the Barberian bust, which will allow fans, residents, and visitors to pay tribute to him in the city of his birth.

In celebration of these achievements, we would like to celebrate with our fans at Jimmy Mak’s on Saturday, August 27th. We will be joined by PDX jazz stalwarts, Go By Train (yes, Dan Balmer folks!), at 8pm, and Intervision will follow ing like fashion shortly there after.

CD Release Party on May 7th at the Aladdin Theater

We are pleased to announce the release of our  third, “self-titled” album on Friday, May 7 at Portland’s Aladdin Theater. Joining us for the evening are special guest opener Christine McKinley as well as an expanded horn section featuring Paul Mazzio on trumpet, Jeff Uustialo on trombone, and Josh Cliburn on reeds.

PORTLAND’S OWN INTERVISION WINS BEST R&B SONG IN THE 8TH ANNUAL INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS

Portland based Intervision is among a diverse group of independent artists named as Winners of the 8th Annual Independent Music Awards (IMA) program. Intervision was named the Winner of the Best R&B Song category for Live Out Loud from their 2007 album, Shades of Neptune.

Combining elements of soul, rock, jazz and pop, the sextet is earning lofty comparisons to bands like Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, and Jamiroquai, yet have created their own intensely unique sound. Intervision has been honored to open for multi-platinum recording artist Lifehouse, and most recently for New Orleans-based architects of southern funk, the Neville Brothers. “These guys are one of the best bands to come off the streets of Portland.”…”Read my lips, these guys are the next big thing.”
